What are routers and are they wireless. I think I found an answer. Routers are boxes that connect computers together so that you can move around files and print to a printer which is connected to one of the computers in the network (connected to the router). Wireless routers usually have antennas and cost a bit more. Routers also allow you to share an internet connection between computers and other devices.

Routers Reviews
February 21st, 2012Wireless Dsl Routers
February 19th, 2012I have dsl. . With a wireless router on my main computer. . And I would often know if I can add another wireless router to extend my range. . And have 2 access points. . . So basically I want both wireless routers hooked up together and 2 access points. . Will that work. After looking around, I learned — That will only work if you have a different phone line where you can connect the other wireless router. And you need to have is a booster, to increase the signal strength.
Adsl Wireless Modem Router
February 17th, 2012
I have a QC5000 ADSL modem router and a WRT54G Wireless Router, and I cannot set a good configuration to work with P2P software such as Emule, Kazaa and Shareazaa. Can someone help me to configure it? Do I have to leave them both as routers? With NAT enabled? Help. From what I can tell… You have to manually open the ports, because that's what NAT does: it closes the ports. First, you need to find out what ports you need to open, and then you need to configure your router. To start off, why not telling me what the make of your router is??
Cable Modem Wireless
February 16th, 2012
I would like to use a wireless modem hooked to a cable modem and run 2 wireless compatible computers to it. Due to physical constraints my primary computer is quite a distance from my cable modem and running wires through the house is a very poor option for me. Is this configuration possible. After looking around, I learned — Yes, I've tried that and it works. Besides, that's what the wireless router is for; right? Just make sure the wireless router is plugged exactly into the modem.
Linksys Access Point
February 14th, 2012I have an oldish Linksys wireless access point and want to add it to my current network. The current network is all Netgear and so the IP addresses start 192. 168. 0. X but my Linksys access point is 192. 168. 1. X. When I enter the address in my browser it will not connect so I can't change it to 192. 168. 0. X. How do I access the AP? Thanks. Essentially — Connect a computer to the Linksys access point directly. It will receive an IP address from the access point, after which you can access the web interface and change any settings as you wish. If the access point does not provide DHCP, assign the computer attached to it a static IP address in the same IP range as the access point itself, after which you can access the web interface as well.
Belkin N1 Router
February 13th, 2012Hi I have Belkin N1 wireless router that I purchased incorrectly. I want to use it to connect wirelessly to my Netgear Wireless-N 300 Router with DSL Modem which is in the study up stairs. I know it's possible but I have know idea how to do it. Do you call it wireless access point. Well, I have your answer right here. It all depends on the FIRMWARE in the router. Some Belkin Routers can use DD-WRT firmware some can't. . So what model of Belkin do you have? N1 isn't descriptive enough there is a MODEL number. Unless the original software/firmware includes the setting to use the unit as a "bridge" meaning it offers a setup page to enter the information to connect to the other router you simply can't connect. As shipped I don't know of any Belkin Routers that have the ability you need. . Adding different firmware will allow it if you router can use the upgraded firmware.

Best N Router
February 11th, 2012
Which one do I need? The regular N router is less high-priced than the later, but I want to purchase the right one. What is benefit to the router with 1 gb. I was happy to learn… The 1gb is the speed of the ethernet ports on the router. If your machines all have 1000mbs network cards then 1gb will allow you to have 1000mbs ethernet connections. The real truth these days about N etc is what do YOU need the system to do. If all you want is internet access. even a G router will work well for you as 54mbs (G speed) is still way faster than your internet connection. So take a look at your local in house use. Do you've multiple computers or just one or two? Do you constantly share files between those? Do you anticipate to need a server? Is your main use for internet, if so I would get a good G router with good antennas and save my money for something useful. If you need local machine to machine speed then N and 1000mbs network cards etc is a requirement. Its important to note – neither of these will make your INTERNET faster just your local network. Your ISP controls your internet speed.
Sony Vaio Battery Price
January 25th, 2012
I'm wondering how long is your battery life for the Sony Vaio. Mine is terrible compared to what it is advertised to get. It is supposed to get 4 hours, but mine only get two hours in the Power Saver mode. If any of you VAIO owners wants to share some of your tips I would appreciate it. I just got this Sony VAIO NW240F a month ago, and the battery life has always been like this. Do you know what I found? Thats because its a 4 cell battery, get the 8cell you will get 4 hrs minimum.

Cheap Wireless Internet
January 21st, 2012I know absolutely nothing about wireless internet. I have dsl now on my desktop pc. I'm in college and I am planning on buying a laptop within the next few weeks. If I buy a laptop thats Wi-Fi capable. . . But I choose to keep the dsl at my house and jus hook that up to the laptop will I be able to pick up the interent when I go to a hotspot with wi-fi or will I have to pay for wireless internet service in order to pick it up anywhere? Could someone explain to me how it all works? And myabe some prices on wirelss internet. Basically… Get a wireless router for your DSL at home so you can use your laptop at home as well. As for other hotspots, most colleges offer free access so you can connect to that. Anyplace else, they are most likely to charge you. Most hoptspots are independent hotspots but if your looking for a roaming hotspot service you can get something like
